Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Paul's is great. They gave me an honest price on a repair a decade ago when another mechanic wanted to over charge me. I've brought both mine and my wife's cars here ever since. Honest, quality work. Great communication.

Go for normal maintenance on my vehicles. Recently had an emergency and called and explained what was going on, and they were able to quickly use the parts that weren't worn and put it back together quickly. So thankful for them to be willing to investigate and repair on a dime, and they charged me fair labor. If I didn't have them, it would have been either hundreds of dollars to tow or hours of personal frustration.

First time to an auto repair shop. I'm a 76 year old female with some auto knowledge. I went in with major brake problems and the engine light on with emissions codes due to problem with fueling. I was emailed photos and detailed diagnosis along with inspection results of the entire vehicle I received a phone call from Serena, my most frequent contact. She went over the diagnosis, the repairs, and cost in detail. I was also informed of some other issues with the vehicle, but was not pressured to get those fixed at this time. After doing major work on the rear brakes, they also found that I had major problems with the front ones as well. I picked up my vehicle in a few days and the brakes were great. However, after several days my engine light was back on. I gave them a call and went back in that day. Again, received a call stating they had found the problem that they missed earlier, and it was solved. No charge because of their warranty. So, overall, I was pleased with their service and will return with this vehicle and my other as well. Everyone that I met at the shop was extremely nice to work with. Even when I had a lot of questions, they were patient. I will re

Great quality. Pretty good experience from start to finish. I got a custom exhaust set up. I dropped off my car and they kept me updated throughout the process. They were professional and the work turned out exactly how I wanted. Highly recommend!
